Special Tikkun for Taanit Esther.

For redeeming the Shechina from exile.

For a personal redemption for you.

Description

There is a big Tikkun that we do on Ta’anit Esther.

It involves the Half-Shekel.

To understand this we need to understand why Taanit Esther is special?

Because it is in memory of the fast of all of Klal Yisrael did with Esther to reconnect with Hashem and bring the redemption that they so desperately needed.

Additionally, according to Kabbalah, Esther represents the Shechina. On Taanit Esther all the Jewish people connected with Esther which represents the Shichina. So too we on a national level can connect to the Shichina on Taanit Esther of every year. The Kabbalists understand this to mean we can redeem [or do a Pidyon] of all types of generalistic things.

Have in mind that the money we add besides for the half-shekel is for the purpose of redeeming all the generalistic things. We have in mind to redeem all these things from the generalistic to the specific things. In the end, we have in mind that all of these things will manifest in your life.

On the day of Taanit Esther, before Mincha, it is customary that each person gives a commemoration of the half shekel to Tzedaka. Some people give $45, some give $15, and some give 3 half dollars.

It is the custom of Kabbalists, aside for the commemoration of the Half Shekel, to give charity for a number of things of the highest caliber.

  • 9 for the Shechinah
  • 8 for Zion
  • 7 for the Beit Hamikdash
  • 6 for the entrance hall and the inner hall
  • 5 for the threshold
  • 4 for the courtyard of Yisroel
  • 3 for the courtyard of the woman
  • 2 for the debts of Klal Yisroel
  • 1.5 for the debts of family embers
  • 0.5 for you and your wife’s debts

Total = 45

I saw my Teacher and Master of Kabbalah, Rabbi Yisroel Avichai, besides for giving that money, give 3 coins of a Pidyon Haben. He told me to focus on the Meditations of Vayevarech David when donating.
